About the Awards
SPEAR’S Russia magazine presents Russia’s first SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Awards held to celebrate the achievements of professionals and firms from private banking, wealth management and related industries for their successes, innovations and acumen over 2008-2009.
SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Awards is organized by tradition and analogy with the award ceremony annually held in London by SPEAR’S UK.

Methodology
The winners of SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Awards 2009 were determined in several rounds:
Qualifying round:
From September 1 until September 30, 2009,
all interested organizations and individuals had an opportunity to nominate themselves or other organizations and
individuals by filling out special applications, which were available at the Awards website. As a result, the nominee
long list was formed.
Votes by peers:
From October 16 until October 23, 2009,
the Organizing Committee collected votes of professionals from private banking, wealth management and related industries in
order to determine short lists of nominees in every category. The voters were asked
to select the best, second and third nominee in each category. The nominees selected
were then respectively awarded three, two and one point. As a result of this process, the final short list was formed.
Votes by the judging panel:
From November 2 until November 11, 2009,
the short list was presented to the judging panel. The judging panel was headed by SPEAR’S Russia Editor-in-Chief Alexander Gafin.
After the judging panel had voted, the Organizing Committee in cooperation with the Independent Consultant of the Awards determined winners in each category.
SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Awards was monitored by PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Independent Consultant.
